The Polish-American double defeated the French player Kristina Mladenovic and Hungarian player Timea Babos - seeded number one in the tournament - in two sets.
In the first set, Rosolska and Spears defended three break points. They did not win a set ball in the 12th game, but in the tie-break, they were much better than their competitors.
The second set was not as tight as the first one. The Polish-American double won three break points and ended the game with their first match point.
Rosolska and Spears will face Czech doubles Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova in the semi-final. The match is scheduled for Friday.
The Polish player is the last representative of Poland in all of the senior Wimbledon tournaments. 32-year-old Rosolska never reached the quarterfinal of any Grand Slam tournament before. Her best result in Wimbledon, in the ladies’ doubles, was the second round in 2012 and the third round of the mixed doubles in 2010.
Junior player in quarterfinal
Another Polish tennis player is doing well in the Wimbledon tournament. Iga Świątek made it to the quarterfinals of the girls’ singles. In the third round match, she defeated French player Clara Burel. Her next competitor will be British player Emma Raducanu.
